Shahula Thaufeeg ( Thuthuna ) of Team Fenaka on the ball.

DSC has held 18/30 WFF tittle twice in a row and Club Immigration prevented them from a third straight title. This year DSC took revenge shattering the dream of Club Immigration to hold third straight title. DSC eliminated Club Immigration on penalties after regular time ended in 1-1. Now the question is can DSC take revenge on Fenaka lifting trophy for third time.

Fenaka has never written their name in 18/30 WFF trophy. However, they came close to the title last year but was defeated in a huge merging by Club Immigration in the final match. This year Fenaka seems unbeatable as they reached final unbeaten and bagging 68 goals.

By comparison and statistically speaking, Fenaka is highly likely to win the trophy against DSC. With Thai trio and experienced local players they are at ease. On the other hand, DSC with Thai duos, Zahiya and Rifa has a shown their potential in quarter and Semi-final. They eliminated MACL, winning a game almost lost.

Tonight, as Fenaka is keen to lift trophy for the first and DSC looking for their revenge against DSC, tight game is expected.

Iranian international Azam Akhondi, who played for Club Immigration in 18/30 Women’s Futsal Fiesta (WFF) has conveyed a message to her team-mates after reaching Tehran yesterday. She directed the message to her Club Immigration team-mates through her Instagram account.

She further added to her statement advising to forget the defeat even if it was due to their own mistakes. Moreover, she urged to take it as a lesson for the future, to surge the hunger for the glory.

Rani Mulyasari and his team-mate Tia Darti left home (Indonesia) last night, after the heartbreaking exit in the Quarter Finals of 18/30 Women’s Futsal Fiesta. This is the third consecutive year Rani played for Club Immigration in this tournament. Unlike the other two trips to Maldives, this is the only time she left home bare handed.

However, her artistry was worthy enough to award her the Queen of the Matches in the last two games of the group stage, despite missing two initial matches due to her unavailability.

Following is the exclusive interview she gave to the media of Club Immigration, a few minutes before she closed the chapter for the time.

Hi Rani, did you play street football as a child?

Yes. I did. I played on the street with my Elementary School team-mates. And you know what? They were all boys. But I enjoyed much with them.

How did you become the player you are today?

When I was a kid, I used to play on the street very much. So my father registered me for the futsal national team under-16 trial. And luckily I got selected to the national team. That is where I gave the maximum effort. And due that, my skill got improved gradually. So I became the player who I am today because my coach taught me much, and I learned much from him.

And also I did homework with YouTube to learn more skill.

What made you to become a futsal player?

To be honest, I was a football player initially. But in Indonesia it is very difficult to find a place to play football. But futsal went on growing with lots of opportunities. That is the reason I decided to become a futsal player. And also futsal became my passion because of the fame of it in the country, so I dreamed of becoming a professional futsal player one day and here I am today.

What do you remember of your professional debut?

My professional debut was with futsal national under-16 team in 2009. That was a memorable day. I didn’t know whether to smile, applaud the crowd, wave my hands in the air or just stay serious. I was extremely happy that I reached my goal. And I am so glad today to live in my dream.

Who is your futsal idol?

My idol is Caecar Silitonga from Indonesia. He is a professional futsal player. He has quick got feet and superb skill with the ball. And he is charming too… Haha…

Best moment of 18/30 WFF?

My best moments were when I lifted the championship trophy with Club Immigration.

How would you define club Immigration?

Friendly…Kind… That is the reason I decided to play Immigration.

What do you think is the reason for the early exit this year?

There are few reasons I would like to share. At the first place, teams were really tough. Most of the teams took the advantage of bringing foreign players. Secondly, I could not perform well in the Quarter Final match. DSC defended well, without giving me space to dribble and to receive the ball. And I think we were unlucky too.

If you get the chance next year, do you wish to come to play for Club Immigration again?

Undoubtedly, I would love to come. I want to regain the championship with Immigration. I want to jump over this psychological hurdle with Immigration. Most importantly, Club Immigration is now part of my career. This team is like a family to me. I wish I could stay here for some more time. But nothing remains forever (Rani wiped her tears).

Thank you Rani for the precious time. See you next year. Wish you a pleasant flight.

In tonight clash between MRDC and MACL was far less paceful than the other Semi-Final match. However, the pace of the game increased after a spectacular backheeler from Sadey gave an early lead to MRDC.
During the next minutes MRDC took control of the game and launched couple of dangerous attacks which the keeper quickly denied.

MACL created couple of good chances most of which the keeper blocked. Liyaah blocked away a shot, which appeared to find the net of MRDC, while goal keeper was away. Moments later Liyaah doubled their lead chipping Messi’s pass over the goal keeper.

The second half in the initial minutes MRDC took total control of the game and aimed several shots. Bichard launched a powerful shot which the keeper intercepted; the ball rebounced and Messi headed in his second goal to make it 5-0. MRDC keeper’s legendary performance denied all those efforts of MACL and as a result MRDC boosted their morale and started piercing MACL net. Kalhey added his name score sheet in the dying minutes of the game and the match ended 6-0 to MRDC.

Goal keeper of MRDC, who showed an outstanding performance stopping all the shots that came to him was chosen as the man of the match.

MRDC will be meeting MPL in the final. Both holds an unbeaten record in CMC 2017.

From both end of the pitch, MPL and United BML was attacking to steal a March by scoring first goal. However, the tight defense and the responsive stoppers was in action to deny the strikers. Rona broke the deadlock at the 11th minute to give MPL lead. United BML pushed aggressively and took couple of shots but MPL keeper denied the shots.

While, United BML was desperately pushing ahead, MPL made several advances, took several shots and got one on encounter with goal keeper but keeper of BML was quick to move forward push it away, which went up and headed towards goal and he punched away again. BML was continually attacking and much to the agony of BML Andhu added his name in score sheet when his shot deflected into the goal. At half time the score was 2-0 to MPL.

The second half was much vigorous as United BML was pushing hard, kept MPL defense line and keeper busy and relentless in stopping the shots of BML.

The third goal of MPL was much controversial as BML appealed for handball but the referees did not see the hand ball, as a result MPL turned it to a score.Rona added a goal when Huzay’s shot bounced after hitting the goal post. Although, BML created numerous opportunities, they were not so lucky as MPL.
However, at the 34 minute Gabey opened MPL goal and Nittey scored twice. The match needed 4-3 to
MPL and Rona who scored twice was crowned as the player of the match. BML is the only team that has given such a response against MPL in CMC 2017.

After the match, United BML team and officials expressed their frustration over refereeing decision that appears to cost them a goal and denied a goal.
